French Toast, also known as Eggy Bread, is one of my favorite foods to eat for breakfast! It’s popular in the states as well as europe! French toast is pretty easy to make it’s a versatile dish. You can serve it with maple syrup, butter, fruits, bacon, whipped cream, etc. I left out cinnamon in this recipe to make it simple. If you’re a fan of cinnamon, you can always add some in.
Ingredients:
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 slices of thick bread
2 tablespoon butter
powdered sugar to dust
maple syrup
Makes 2 French Toast
Cooking Instructions:
Step 1: Mix the egg, milk, flour, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl. Move mixture to a larger flat bowl to make it easier to dip the bread in.
Step 2: Heat a frying pan. When the pan is hot add 1 tablespoon of butter (the pan is too hot if the butter smokes – reduce heat).
Step 3: Dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture for 20 seconds on each side. Then put in skillet.
Step 4: Cook each side for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for the other slice of bread.
Step 5: Dust the toasts with powdered sugar, then serve with syrup and/or fruits!
