I’m not much of a superstitious person, but today is definitely Friday the 13th for me…

My morning started out by breaking my “today’s menu” statue man (he can be seen here in his original state). He was in the middle of the counter, a safe area, but somehow I managed to knock him over and he fell to the ground taking a huge chunk out of my wooden floor… The loud sound then awoke my cranky husband…

I was saddened by the incident, but decided to move on with my day. I went to check on my rice… I normally make fresh rice in the morning, but last night I decided to make black bean brown rice… When I opened the rice cooker, the rice was not the usual yummy rice I make… It was a large pot of MUSH…

My husband decided to make his no-fail Korean BBQ chicken to make things better. Well, his no-fail recipe turned out as an epic fail recipe… We HATE wasting food, but this was something we could not eat…

We decided to head out for lunch to cheer ourselves up. I was craving Steamed Beef Buns from Peking Dumpling (inside Hannam Chain Market in Los Angeles). 6 steamed beef buns for $6. Not a bad deal. The juicy beef buns made everything better.

Now, I’m just going to stay home and relax to avoid any other potential bad luck events.
